War Trauma

Children and adolescents exposed to war trauma are at high risk for developing mental health problems, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety disorders. The effects of war trauma can be long-lasting and impact multiple areas of functioning, including academic performance, social relationships, and overall development. Interventions for war-affected youth often need to address not only individual trauma symptoms but also family and community factors, emphasising resilience-building and culturally sensitive approaches.
